1st blog post everrr!!

So this is my first blog ever in my life. And I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing, but I've recently been checking out other blogs and have found blogging in general pretty inspirational. I've never been much of a writer, and I'm not overly creative. But the blogging community seems pretty incredible and I'd love to join if you will have me!

I'm not exactly sure how you get people to follow you on here..be interesting I guess. I would appreciate any tips or advice because I have NO IDEA what I'm doing  :)

A little about myself..

My name is Laura. I just moved to Tennesse from Ohio. The change has been awesome, but also hard. I made the decision to move here just because I wanted to. I didn't want to be born and die in the same state without exploring a little. I moved here (barely) knowing two people in this city. I have made a few awesome friends here that I am soo thankful for. But it's still not the same as home..yet. It's crazy that I can't just call up my bff to meet me for happy hour, or spend Sunday's with my family, or even run into random people that I haven't seen in years (I never thought I would miss that)... but I kind of do. I don't want to sound unhappy, because I looove this city and I am so proud of myself for doing something I always wanted to do. It's just different...something to get used to :)

Luckily I still have my baby girl with me...and by baby girl I mean a possibly slightly over weight, sad faced, floppy eared, crazy bassett hound who I named Dolly four and a half years ago.

I know..I know you can admit it...I have the most beautiful dog everr. She isn't that way naturally you know, she has worked hard at  many long lazy days of naps, overeating and devouring trash.
"No pain, no gain"

So tomorrow is thanksgiving, and I've always loved to bake..I don't do it nearly enough, probably because baking typically produces large quantities, and there is no reason for a single gal like me to need so many desserts at home..but anyways I decided to make a few dishes for the holiday. I went to a pre-thanksgiving dinner yesterday and awed everyone with my own concoction which I have not yet named, but I must admit my combination of gingerbread, pumpkin, whipped cream and caramel was to die for! I honestly can't decide which is more spectacular... trifle dish or my pumpkin cookies that were the perfect softness with icing that was not cream cheese based, because I think that's gross (apparently many people would beg to differ) but it was a homemade pumpkin icing. I know what you're thinking..pumpkin icing on pumpkin cookies, but it was ahmazing!
Soo I guess I'll go ahead and wrap up my first post ever... not sure anyone will ever read this, but I hope someone somehow stumbles upon it and makes my day by leaving me comment :)
